ABOUT
A young boy navigates the conflict between his father's mystical African heritage and his secular Canadian upbringing.
SYNOPSIS
The Prophetess is an African traditional healer who serves the minority community of African immigrants in Vancouver. When one becomes ill, instead of going to the doctor, they see the prophetess. It is a tradition and custom they have brought with them to Canada from their native lands. To the neighbourhood kids, however, she’s a mythological African character that they’ve heard scary rumours about.
